The Kingswood Network comprises many fantastic local organisations, schools, nurseries, community groups and individuals active in and around the Kingswood Estate.
Kingswood House forms a central hub of community activity with its many and varied rooms for hire and activities and organisations hosted there. These include the Paxton Green Time Bank, Link Age Southwark, the Kingswood Library, the very active Tenants and Residents Association (KETRA), many activities for young people, historic and artistic groups and so much more.
Across the park is the brilliant Kingswood Community Shop running regular courses and activities and serving as a meeting place for residents to socialise. The community is served by various schools - Dulwich Wood Primary School, Dulwich Wood Nursery School, Dulwich Oaks Montessori School, Kingsdale Foundation School, as well as active local councillors, a GP practice and various faith groups.
So why are we meeting?
With funding for services being cut and the need for using any local resources available more effectively, we wanted to bring together members of the Kingswood Network and local residents to look at funding opportunities, to look at what is working well for local residents and what people love about Kingswood, as well as anything that people feel is needed locally and how we can use assets within the community to meet those needs.
How can local services work better together to serve the community?
Are there any services missing that are needed?
How can the network secure funding for community members and work together to use funds and local skills more effectively?
How can we make better use of local green spaces?
What community events could we run?
