Take Part in a Day of Workshops, Participation and Action in Kennington Park

11am: Banner design and Banner Making. With Calverts design Co-op, and textile artist Lu Firth. A group workshop to design and make a banner for the Kennington Chartist Project, within the day!
For adults.(And accompanied chilrden 10+) (SIGN-UP required).
11am: Storytelling. Join proffesional storyteller Sandra Agard as she tells the story of the 1848 Chartist rally on Kennington Common and other tales. (For ages 4 to 104)
12am: Music Workshop with musician Luke Crookes. Warm up for the parade by learning a new Chartist song. Learn the 6 points of the Charter in song, and add your own verses. (For ages 4 to 104)
1pm: Children's parade. Including Spoken Word, Costume and Songs from our Schools and Youth Workshops.
2.pm: Youth Workshop Black history and Spoken Word. (SIGN-UP required) With S.I. Martin and Adisha the Verbiliser. (For ages 16-24)
2.30: Chartist Question Time: Panel discussion on the legacy of the Chartist movement in the politics of today. With Journalist and activist Paul Mason and others.
Paint your own placquard with Artist and community activist Carole Wright.
Printmaking with the Portable Print Studio. Print your own poster of the famous engraving of Kennington Common in 1848. Design you own slogans and print onto T-shirts.
Plus Community Choirs, Banners, Local History Stalls, Food & Drink, (or Bring a picnic)
