Join us for a morning of theatre games, storytelling and discussion to explore the ideas of home, culture, and belonging. We will discover how our experiences shape our cultural identity, and how we can better understand and empathise with people who are different to us.
This is not an acting workshop; you will not need prior drama experience. The event is intended for members of refugee communities living in Southwark, and local residents who would like to welcome newcomers into their community. Bring your curiosity and willingness to try something different, and leave with new skills and greater confidence!
The workshop will be led by Guleraana Mir and Amy Clare Tasker, creators of Home is Where… a theatre project inspired by inspired by interviews with Cross Culture Kids. They have previously led workshops for youth and community groups, as well as at international conferences in The Hague and New York City.
The workshop is free, but advance booking is recommended as places are limited.
