To celebrate the opening weekend of the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games and London Bridge City Summer Festival,Night of Festivals London will be wowing crowds on London’s South Bank in the area around More London, City Hall and Potters Fields Park. The Festival, produced by ArtReach, incorporates FREEDOM, a collaborative European project with artists from across the Continent and in partnership with Haus Drei (Hamburg) and FabriC (Gabrovo, Bulgaria).
The spectacle will include an amazing range of Brazilian and Latin American street art, dance and carnival, live music, storytelling in our atmospheric Yurt, and visual arts installations and activity from Bulgarian, German, Romanian and UK artists. Don’t miss the interactive Chimes installation!
Sunday 7th August
11am to 6pm: Day time continuous carnival activity featuring the extraordinary menagerie of carnival animals, inspired by Orwell’s Animal Farm, and Latin American Day of the Dead characters from Mandinga Arts, storytelling yurt, original Brazilian samba music and dance from the vibrant Paraiso Samba, Latin American music featuring Conjunto Sabroso, and visual arts installations including Freedom Wall and The Chimes. Further performances from Masca Theatre’s Living Statues. Other companies include Maracuta and Batala.
