Peckham and Nunhead CAN Meeting

What is Your Vision for Peckham and Nunhead?

What would you like your area to be like in 5, 10 or maybe 15 years time? What improvements would you like to see, and what would you definitely NOT want to see?

Redevelopment across Southwark is taking place at an unprecedented rate (some on a massive scale), so what concerns you about the future for Peckham and Nunhead? Peckham Town Centre is experiencing a rash of new developments causing fears amongst local residents about affordable housing, protection of local heritage, plans for increasingly tall buildings, etc.; and that the needs of existing residents and communities are low on the priority list.

The Council's New Southwark Plan (NSP) will be the basis for further changes over the next 10 to 15 years during which time Southwark's population will continue to increase; and communities across the borough are preparing their own visions for the future of their areas and so seek to influence what the NSP will include.

We want to provide an opportunity for our very diverse local communities to contribute their views to these visions, as well as discuss other issues of importance to our local residents and businesses.

The second half the meeting will provide attendees with a platform to discuss any issues that you might want to raise, as well as providing the opportunity for you to share any news and information that is relevant to Peckham and Nunhead.

CAN meetings are held in partnership with local organisations in each area. Southwark Group of Tenants Organisations (SGTO) will be hosting this meeting. Tenants organisations are great ways to get involved in your community if you live on a local estate. CAN meetings bring together individuals in the community representatives from TRAs and local organisations.
