The past few CAN meetings in Bermondsey and Rotherhithe have been held jointly, and now, for the last meeting of the year, we are splitting them up!
The last meeting explored the seldom heard groups within the area and we unpicked a lot about the history of Rotherhithe, and how local communities continue to look within themselves for solutions to local issues.
The next Rotherhithe CAN Meeting will continue the trend of looking at different voices in the area; this time exploring important local campaigns, issues and events. It will be held at T&T2, the new community space managed by Time and Talents in partnership with British Land, United St Saviours and Southwark Council.
During the meeting, a discussion on community plans and partnerships leading up to the Mayflower 2020 will be led by Illuminate Rotherhithe and London Bubble Theatre. This will provide a great opportunity to find out how local residents can connect with local businesses or community organisations and support local initiatives that will be supporting the commemorations in 2020.
The second half of the meeting will provide attendees with a platform to discuss any other issues that you might want to raise, as well as providing the opportunity to share any news and information that is relevant to Rotherhithe.
We want you to tell us how we can help!
This will be very important in helping to create changes in the area, and steer themes for CAN meetings in the future.
