The Government has committed to extending the Neighbourhood Planning Support Programme for at least two more years. The current programme provides a mix of grants and technical support. It has been essential to the growth of neighbourhood planning while also attracting critical comment.
This workshop will explore the views of neighbourhood forums across London on how the support programme can be strengthened and improved. What should it cover? How is funding or technical support best provided? Is the application process fit for purpose? How useful are toolkits and model policies? How do groups who are just starting out get supported? How can digital tools be better used? Are there benefits from neighbourhood forums networking better? Should the support for parish councils differ from neighbourhood forums? The workshop will explore these and other questions. We will invite and use the discussion to inform DCLG.
The workshop is hosted by We Are Waterloo in the newly opened Build Studios. It is free and donations will be welcome. The venue has capacity for up to 50 particpants.
