Southwark LGBT Forum/Network would like to invite you to its 2017 AGM. This will be an opportunity to find out about the work that LGBTQI activists have been involved in which are helping make Southwark a more tolerant place. There will be opportunities to become part of furthering this important work.
Confirmed speakers on the night are:
- Linda Bellos – founder of the Forum and the Network, first non-white member of the Spare Rib Collective, second black woman to become a leader of a local council
- House of Rainbow - an organisation providing LGBTQI human rights advocacy, support for people living with HIV and holistic reconciliation of faith and sexuality
- Mark Healey - Chair of 17-24-30 NO To Hate Crime Campaign.
We are encouraging members of the LGBTQI Community in Southwark to come and join us as we look back at the work done by the Network, and look to add new members to keep the organisation going to improve things for those who live, work and play in Southwark.
The organisation is completely volunteer led and Is looking for friendly energetic volunteers to take up a range of leadership positions.
If you would like to be involved and you have some knowledge or skills, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are a member of a neighbouring LGBT forum in another borough, we do encourage you to join us for the event, as we look at ways of strengthening the relationships between LGBT networks in London, to support each other more cohesively.
