Southwark Libraries volunteer info day

Between Saturday 13 July and Sunday 1 September all Southwark Libraries will run the annual Summer Reading Challenge for children. This year’s theme is Space Chase, celebrating 50 years since the first moon landing.

Volunteers aged 14 and over will assist library staff in the following areas:

  1. Meeting and greeting participants

  2. Explaining what the Summer Reading Challenge is all about

  3. Encouraging children to join in

  4. Listening to children talk about the books they have read

  5. Providing children with their gifts

Even if you are only free to volunteer for a week or two over the summer period you can still get involved in this opportunity.

We’re holding two Information and Recruitment days. The other one is at Peckham Library on Thursday 4 July from 4.30pm to 5.30pm

Please book a place by sending an email to marlon.mcfarlane@southwark.gov.uk or southwark.libraries@southwark.gov.uk
