Southwark Refugee Response - Volunteers Meeting

On 30th July we held a very successful Refugees Welcome Southwark Stands Together event.
The event was attended by over 150 people. Speakers Included Dr Jane Steen - the Archdeacon on Southwark, Carolina Gottardo of Latin American Women’s Rights and Councillor Barrie Hargrove.
The event was supported by organisations such as Stand up to Racism and the councils tackling hate crime group. Thank you to everyone who helped to make this a success.

We wish to keep the momentum going and plan to hold a film event in November.
We need volunteer support for this and other activities, including fund raising events and activities during Hate Crime Awareness Week in October.

We are holding a meeting for volunteers and people who are interested in volunteering with the refugee support projects.
This will take place on Friday 9th September 6.30-8pm at St Giles Centre , 81 Camberwell Church St.
It would be really good to get feedback from people who have volunteered, and also ideas for future events and activities, particularly around fund raising and social media.
If you are able to attend please RSVP to by Tuesday 30th August
If you can’t come along but would like to contribute time, expertise or ideas please let us know.
