Universal Credit Workshop

As Universal Credit rolls out across Southwark without any signs of slowing, the impact on individuals and communities is growing.

This information session seeks to demystify UC’s introduction and provide attendees with the opportunity to find out more about exactly what this means for residents, and how they can mitigate against its impact.

The session will also serve to highlight what support is available.

You will be hearing from the following organisations:

 - Southwark Council, on challenges and responses as both a landlord and Full Service authority (TBC)

 - Citizens Advice Southwark, who have witnessed the impact on services and addressed the concerns of claimant

 - Social Publishing Project, who have produced a Universal Credit guide.


Discussions will cover the practical challenges of Universal Credit Full Service from a range of perspectives and the responses made by authorities, advice agencies and support projects.

A panel discussion will follow, chaired by Cris Claridge (Chair of Southwark Group of Tenants Organisations), where you will be able to ask any questions that you may have.

This event is co-hosted by Community Southwark and Southwark Citizens Advice Bureau, and is kindly supported by the SGTO.

This session is aimed at the Voluntary and Community Sector, Tenants and Residents Associations; or anyone that would like to know more and possibly support their local community.
